The Olivia Project....a followup.

My take on a 'fat-quarter skirt'. Using every last bit of the Olivia fabric, I made this skirt for my other little friend named Olivia (she is Jet's girlfriend).

Our Daily Bread....

Well, ok, not really...but I have made this bread at least 10 times this winter.
I may be the last person in blogland to have tried this No-Knead Bread recipe since it was first published in the New York Times in 2006 . Doesn't matter. I am happy to have found it and happy with the consistently excellent results. I add a little whole wheat flour and a handful of wheat bran to the recipe, but there are lots of bloggers out there with their own tip and tricks. I have tried several suggestions and have come to believe that this bread is completely fool-proof.

It makes a great gift - I made this loaf for my neighbor Holly:

The Olivia Project!

Caroline and Erin gave me several yards of fabric for my birthday,
a couple of those being Olivia the Pig designs.

I knew this "Wonder Jacket" from from Sew Babywould be perfect for my little friend Olivia Morin...

and this one for her twin sister Katelyn. (catch up with them here).

The jackets for the twins turned out so cute, I decided to make three more!
Two in additional Olivia fabrics and one from some leftover fleece.

One for Avery Mei,

and one for Ellery,
and one for Savannah Bailey
Great pattern - only three pieces!

Alphabet Photography

In checking out a site called Alphabet Photography, I got the great idea to make gifts for the girls and their families for Christmas.
I can do this - I call myself a photographer.
So off I went, traipsing all over downtown Charlottesville and
the University of Virgina grounds
taking photos of
"letters" in the local architecture.

This is a nice M:
And a beautiful A:

Here is a shot of the project mid production:

And here are the three results:

and Maupin
I love how they turned out!

Christmas Card Kids

I don't know how my parents managed to get a great Christmas card photo of eight kids every year. Damn, we were cute!

It took three of us, using candy canes as bribes, to corral these little munchkins for a shot.

Happy Birthday Erika!

Can't believe that this little cutie pie is now 35! Sheesh. That makes me really, really old. And this year, she will have her own little darling!
